“Mountains Will Move”
Matthew 17:20 (KJV)
"And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."
As I continue to grow in my walk with Christ, I’m learning that life doesn’t always go the way I expect or hope. But I’m also learning that growth, real, spiritual growth, often comes through moments of struggle. God is teaching me that in order to become who He’s calling me to be, I must confront and overcome my own insecurities. That can only happen through faith: faith in who He is and in what He’s able to do in and through me.
Jesus tells us that even faith the size of a mustard seed has power enough to move mountains. That kind of faith doesn’t come from relying on ourselves; it comes from fully trusting in the God who makes the impossible possible. When He speaks, I can move with confidence, knowing His Word will not return void. So, if Jesus says I can speak to the mountain and it will move, I believe it. And I will speak.
We serve a God whose love is deeper than we can imagine. A love that drives out fear. But often, we let our circumstances speak louder than His truth. We look around at the chaos, the disappointments, and the setbacks, and we begin to doubt. But don’t let the enemy convince you that you're not making progress just because you stumble. Falling isn’t failure; refusing to rise again is.
None of us is perfect. Some people just hide their struggles better than others. Don’t let appearances shake your faith. Hold onto what you know: God is able. That mountain in front of you can be moved.
So I pray:
Lord, help me in my unbelief. Teach me to trust You without hesitation. Thank you for being patient with me, for loving me in my imperfections, and for never letting go. You are my Lord, my Father, and my Friend, who loves me unconditionally. I choose to believe you. I choose to praise You. Amen.
Personal Reflection:
· What "mountains" in your life do you need to speak to today?
· Are there areas where fear, insecurity, or doubt have silenced your faith?
· Ask the Holy Spirit to help you speak God's truth over those areas, and to trust Him, even when things don’t make sense.
