Unshakable Faith – Moving from Belief to Bold Action
John 2:3-5 (KJV)
"And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.”
I’ve read this passage so many times, and every time I’m struck by Mary’s unwavering faith. Jesus hadn’t performed a single miracle yet—this was the beginning. And still, Mary didn’t hesitate. She didn’t beg, plead, or try to convince Him. She simply turned to the servants and said, “Do whatever He tells you.”
Think about that kind of confidence. Jesus hadn’t said yes. In fact, He said it wasn’t His time. But Mary believed anyway.
Can you imagine having that kind of faith? Praying, believing, and acting—even when the answer seems like a "no" or nothing around you looks like it’s going to change?
Too often, we start out strong, full of faith, but when we don’t see immediate results or the situation seems too big, we start to waver. We let what we see make us doubt what God said.
But the truth is this: We serve a God who cannot lie.
1 John 5:14 reminds us, “If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
That’s the kind of faith I want—the kind that doesn’t second-guess, doesn’t go back and forth, doesn’t wonder if God will come through. I want the kind of faith that knows: If I’ve prayed and it’s aligned with His will, it’s already done—even if I can’t see it yet.
Prayer:
Lord, I pray to have the kind of faith that knows it will be answered when I ask anything according to your will. Lord, help me not to allow the things around me or my circumstances to dictate my faith or belief system. Lord, let my trust in you be so strong that when I pray, I know I have released it into the atmosphere and don’t have to think twice about the answer. I want to be so in tune with you that I am not constantly questioning if it’s your will, I will know because of the relationship we have. In Jesus’ name, amen.
