For Such a Time as This

“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther 4:14 (NKJV)

Let Me Tell You a Story

There once was a young girl who believed the best in people. She was kind, smart, and always eager to learn. She stood out—not by trying, but simply by being herself. And at first, people celebrated her for it.

But middle school changed everything. The crowd started chasing popularity, image, and belonging. Being different suddenly wasn’t a good thing. And for the first time, her light felt like too much.

So she dimmed it.

She changed how she talked, how she acted, and how she showed up. She became someone she thought they’d accept. And they did, but they weren’t accepting the real her. Over time, she lost her voice, her identity, and the confidence that once came so naturally.

That habit followed her into adulthood until one day, she met Jesus. Not just the Jesus she’d heard about growing up, but the One who saw her, knew her, and loved her deeply. Loved her enough not to leave her in that broken space.

That love became the turning point.

She began to rediscover who she was. To stand in purpose. To reflect His love. And just when she felt content… God called her to more.

The journey was hard. There were doubts, fears, growing pains, and moments where giving up seemed easier. But the Lord wouldn’t let her quit. And through that process, she discovered a powerful truth:

She was never meant to be like anyone else.

That girl… was me.
My name is Jackie.

A Personal Revelation

I spent too long trying to minister like people I admired until God said, “Jackie, I created you to be you.”

The way I process truth is different. The way I teach, the way I see the world, it’s all part of my design. I am called for this season, with my voice, my story, and my perspective. And so are you.

What Esther Teaches Us

In Esther 4:14, Mordecai reminds Esther that she had a divine decision to make. She could remain silent, or she could step into the moment God had prepared her for.

And here’s what that passage tells us:

  1. God’s will is unstoppable — He will accomplish His plan, with or without us.

  2. Silence is no longer an option — Your voice matters in this season.

  3. You are here on purpose — Your family, job, and church are not accidents.

  4. Disobedience has a cost — Partial obedience is still disobedience.

  5. This is your appointed time — Don’t miss the moment created just for you.

You’re Not Alone in Feeling Unqualified

Even great leaders in the Bible struggled with insecurity:

  • Moses felt slow of speech, but God reminded him:
“Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”
    Exodus 4:10–12 (NKJV)

  • Jeremiah felt too young, but God told him:
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you... I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
    Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV)

  • Peter was impulsive and denied Jesus, yet Jesus still said:
“On this rock I will build My church...”
    Matthew 16:18 (NKJV)

God chooses the unqualified—and then He equips them.

Overcoming Fear

Fear almost kept me silent. Not because I doubted God’s voice, but because I doubted mine. I thought, “What if I mess up?” “What if no one listens?”

But the Bible is full of people like Jonah and Ezekiel, called to speak even when the outcome was uncertain. And they had to obey anyway.

So let me ask you:

What is God asking you to say or do… that you’re afraid of?

Here’s the truth:
Their response is on them. Your obedience is on you.

Tools for Boldness

Lean on the Word when fear creeps in:

  • Luke 12:11-12 — The Holy Spirit will teach you what to say.

  • Matthew 10:19-20 — It won’t be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father.

  • Isaiah 51:15-16 — He has put His words in your mouth.

  • Ephesians 6:19-20 — Pray for boldness as you speak.

God has already prepared you. He’s given you His Spirit. With Him, nothing He’s called you to is impossible.

A Final Thought

“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1

You are not too early. You are not too late.
You are right on time.

“For I know the plans I have for you… to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11

“Look among the nations and watch—be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days…”
Habakkuk 1:5

God is doing something powerful now. Will you be part of it?

To the One Still Shrinking…

Some of you are in the season I was once in, trying to walk in full obedience, while others around you don’t understand. Don’t try to fit in. You were never meant to.

You are a chosen generation. A royal priesthood. Set apart. (1 Peter 2:9)

If you blend in, how will the world know your God is different?

And if you’ve already gone down the wrong path, it’s not too late. Repent. Turn around. I did it by the grace of God, and so can you.

Reflection Questions

  • What is God calling you to do in this season?

  • Where has fear been holding you back?

  • Are you using your voice, or have you been silent?

  • What would full obedience look like for you today?

A Closing Word

You are not here by accident. You, just like me, are here…

For such a time as this.
