Aligning with God
Psalm 119:45 (NKJV)
“And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts.”
As I reflected on this verse, it became clear: when we truly love the Lord and desire to please Him, our hearts begin to change. As we seek to know Him through His Word and walk in obedience, something powerful happens—our desires begin to align with His.
This is what Psalm 37:4-5 speaks of:
"Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass."
When you delight in the Lord—when your joy is found in Him—your desires are transformed. They begin to reflect God’s will and purpose for your life. And in that alignment, you’ll find true freedom, joy, and fulfillment.
There is freedom in walking with God. Don’t let culture or worldly opinions make you question whether it’s worth it. Yes—your choices may look different: how you dress, how you speak, how you treat people who disagree with you, how you spend your money, how you love those who are often ignored. And that’s okay. You were never called to blend in—you were called to stand apart.
Choose your path. Eternity is real, and we all spend it somewhere. The question is: will you choose to walk in step with God now, so you can walk with Him forever?
I choose liberty by seeking His ways. I choose to walk in alignment with God.
Here are practical ways to align with God in daily life:
· Start Your Day with God – Begin each morning with prayer and a short Bible reading. Invite God into your day and ask Him to direct your steps.
· Examine Your Desires – Ask yourself, “Do my goals reflect God’s character and will?” If not, ask Him to help reshape your heart.
· Live by His Word – When making decisions, pause and ask, “What does God’s Word say about this?” Let Scripture be your guide, not feelings or trends.
· Be Set Apart – Be mindful of how you speak, dress, and act in a way that honors Christ. This includes how you treat others, especially those who may mistreat or misunderstand you. Go out of your way to be kind to the overlooked: the cashier, the co-worker, the neighbor. This shows God's love in action; this is what will set you apart from others.
· Honor God with Your Finances – Give generously, live wisely, and avoid waste. Steward your resources in a way that reflects your trust in God.
· Guard Your Influences – Be intentional about what you listen to, watch, or consume. Choose media, friendships, and environments that encourage godliness.
