Seeking Jesus: The Foundation of Faith
Jeremiah 29:12-13 (KJV)
"[12] Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
[13] And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."
We spend so much time trying to figure out our purpose, our next step, and our Kingdom assignment when, in reality, it starts with one thing: seeking Jesus. We are all guilty, and that includes me. The crazy part is He’s not hiding or playing games with your destiny. What he won’t do is force himself on you. He wants a relationship, not a ritual. When we seek Him with our whole heart, we will find Him, and everything else flows from that place.
Here is our challenge: Let’s stop overthinking and overanalyzing. Let’s stop waiting for a sign when we already have His Word. Let’s make a daily decision to put Jesus first. To seek Him not for what He can do, but because of who He is. This will get you much farther than trying to do things on your own. Just think about it, we would rather follow our own guidance than the one who existed before creation and the one who will never change. Where is the logic in that?
Now you may ask, how would we accomplish such a goal? Simple, we are to follow the example Paul gave us in 1 Corinthians 15:31, we are to die to ourselves daily, laying down our own plans and picking up the life He designed for us. Trusting the Word of God when he tells us the plans he has for us are good plans, and he knows this because he knew us before we were formed in our mother’s womb. Will this always be easy? Honestly, no, but just as when you are building trust with a person, let his track record speak for itself. Spend time with Him in prayer and fasting, and get to know Him; watch and see how things start to make sense and become clearer.
A Prayer of Undeniable Faith
Lord, Your Word says that when I seek You with all my heart, I will find You.
So here I am. I surrender my plans, my worries, and my will.
I trust You. I believe that You are working behind the scenes, even when I don’t see it.
I choose today to follow You, not just with words, but with action.
Lead me, Lord, I’m letting go of the wheel. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Let this be the day you step into undeniable faith.
Not faith that waits for proof.
But faith that moves because God has already spoken.
Whatever He tells you, do it.
