Stop Arguing With Your Creator

Have you ever found yourself saying, “I’m not qualified.” “I’m not good enough.” “Someone else could do this better than I can.”

If we are honest, many of us have.

But if the Lord has given you an assignment or spoken a word over your life, He will also give you everything you need to fulfill it.

Stop disqualifying yourself.

Stop speaking negatively about yourself.

Stop entertaining doubt.

Think about it for a moment. How often do we tell the very One who created us what we cannot do? The God who formed us, called us, and equipped us knows exactly who we are because He made us.

The Lord told Jeremiah:

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV)

Can I be transparent?

I have been guilty of this too. Honestly, I was struggling with this this morning. That is where this was birth from and the Lord reminded me that I was not alone in this.

People often say the greatest battle is in your mind, and that is true. It is amazing how far God can bring you from your past, yet the memories of who you used to be still try to define who you are today.

You can look back and see undeniable evidence that God has changed your life, yet the enemy wants to keep reminding you of the person you no longer are.

The question is: Whose voice are you going to believe?

God’s Word reminds us:

  • “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” (Proverbs 18:21) Yet many of us use our words to tear ourselves down instead of building ourselves up.

  • “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17) Yet we continue rehearsing old failures instead of embracing our new identity.

  • Jesus died and rose again so we could be forgiven, redeemed, and free (Romans 6:4; John 8:36), yet we often choose to live as though we’re still bound by yesterday.

Child of God, it is time to stop agreeing with your past and start agreeing with God’s Word.

Remember who you are.

  • You were created in His image. (Genesis 1:27)

  • You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14)

  • You have been chosen and called to be holy and set apart. (1 Peter 2:9)

  • You are deeply loved by the Father. (Romans 5:8; 1 John 3:1)

  • You are forgiven through Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:7; 1 John 1:9)

  • You have been anointed and called for His purpose. (2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Ephesians 2:10)

The next time insecurity begins to whisper that you are not enough, answer it with the truth:

I am enough; not because of who I am, but because of whose I am. The One who called me will equip me, strengthen me, and complete the work He has begun in me. (Philippians 1:6; Hebrews 13:20-21)

Prayer

Lord, forgive me for the times I have allowed fear, doubt, insecurity, and my past to speak louder than Your Word. Help me to see myself the way You see me. Remind me that You formed me with purpose, called me by name, and have equipped me for every assignment You place before me. Let my words agree with Your truth and let my life reflect the confidence that comes from knowing I belong to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
